Every organization’s IT infrastructure and staffing situation is unique. Depending on the size and complexity of an organization’s IT infrastructure, installation and configuration of the GeoSystems Monitor® often requires a team effort where the GIS/IT Administrator, along with one or more others playing the roles of systems, network, and/or database administrators may need to be involved. GeoSystems Monitor hardware and software requirements are as follows:

Other System Requirements
To monitor any GIS/IT resource, the GeoSystems Monitor must be able to:
- Make requests of the resource and receive responses
- Alert appropriate staff with emails and text messages
To do this the GeoSystems Monitor often must:
- Be able to go through a Proxy server to access services on the net
- Access an internal / or external Email server for alerting
- Be a member of the domain to facilitate use of Microsoft security
- Be able to reach servers to be monitored
It is important to understand and plan for these requirements during installation.
