Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) is a way for system administrators to control which applications can access a site. If CORS is setup on your portal but GeoSystems Monitor is not added to that list, then the browser will block the requests from completing. In order to have GeoSystems Monitor access your portal, you will need to update your allowed origins in your portal's security settings. See here for information on updating your server’s security settings to allow GeoSystems Monitor to access your Portal.

You can read more about CORS security here.
